In FSAE, students pursuing engineering in mechanical and automobile sectors will design and manufacture their own cars according to the Rule book. FORMULA SAE Team releases Rules book every year, which gives details of some basic dimensions and shapes to be followed by every team being participated in competition. The then manufactured car undergoes numerous tests and approved by judges committee to participate in race.
In India,SUPRA SAE is famous as FORMULA SAE in other countries.
Coming to our project FSAE Shark 08, a team of 7 members made a running race car for this competition as a project with 1 lakh rupees sponsorship from NANDI GROUP OF COMPANIES M.D,Mr.S.Sreedhar Reddy. The team has used solidworks software to design and analysis of chassis and other body parts and used Lotus Shark Simulation software for suspension analysis. Suspension is made easier by the use of ROD END bearings.
