Batteries - Type and capacity - Evolution

Batteries store electricity in a chemical form, inside a closed-energy system.
Nickel cadmium or Nickel metal hydride at best can carry double the energy of Lead acid batteries and the high temperature and sodium nickel chloride can carry nearly three times but they do not allow the design of vehicle with a long range.
In practice the available rechargeable battery with highest specific energy is the lithium polymer batteries whose specific energy is about three times that of Lead acid batteries.
Nanowire battery can hold 10 times the charge of existing lithium-ion battery.
