The compact sedan segment of the Indian automotive market is one area that Volkswagen has so far left untouched. But, the company will be making its first foray into this segment soon with a compact, sub 4 metre version of the VW Vento. This car will be shown at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo which will be held in February next year. The Vento compact sedan will face rivalry from cars like the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Tata Zest, Ford Figo Aspire, Hyundai Xcent and so on. Most probably, the same 1.2 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engines from the VW Polo will be carried over to power this car.
